Frank Guy Armitage

Dr. Frank Guy Armitage, ventriloquist and impersonator of Dickens characters, performed in Pierce Chapel on Saturday evening, April 23, 1938. Born in England but educated in the United States, he displayed a ready wit in his popular presentation, "Queer Folk from Dickens." He was decorated with the Military Cross by King George at Buckingham Palace for valor exhibited during WW I, and was a member of both the Royal Geographical Society and Royal Colonial Institute. Armitage portrayed Squeers, Micawber, Mr. Pecksniff and Grandfather Smallweed, among others from the Dickens universe.
