Epidemics

In 1931 the college campus experienced a near epidemic of Scarlet Fever as seven cases developed within the college. The first floor of Mills Cottage was turned into an isolation ward to care for these cases (Alumni Quartery, July 1931, p. 12). In Fall 2006 a mumps epidemic broke out and dozens of students were affected with the final number reaching nearly one hundred.
