Homecoming

This event, a special time for students to welcome alumni back to campus and to entertain them, has continued annually since 1923. Begun at the urging of Orland Stockton who had noted that many schools were "starting to have big weekends on campus for alumni." Ed Coray took the idea to the Student Council, of which he was president, and got the wheels rolling. Clarence Mason '24 was chairman and other campus leaders followed through in the fall. Ed Coray attended all the Homecomings from 1925 until his passing in 1993.
