BRIDGE

BRIDGE

B.R.I.D.G.E, or Building Relationships in Discipleship, Grace, and Experience, was founded in 1981 and was meant to replace SOUL (Student Organization for Urban Leadership) in order to attract a wider variety of students and ethnic backgrounds. Its purpose was to share and learn about a variety of ethnic backgrounds, particularly Black, Hispanic, American Indian, and Asian cultures. The organization was geared toward personal growth, support and a broader outlook for every student involved.

The BRIDGE Constitution's preamble stated that "Believing that we should love our brothers and sisters as Christ first loved us, we, the multi-cultural students of Wheaton College, hereby form B.R.I.D.G.E. to maintain our cultural heritages and to present these heritages to the Wheaton College community."
