Notable Visitors

Wheaton College has, nearly from its beginning, been a school that drew national attention. Embedded within the newspaper archive of the New York Times are references to the Illinois Institute and its early doings. Jonathan Blanchard was known nationally and involved in third-party politics, receiving nominations for the U.S. presidency.  Wheaton has attracted individuals of national note to the campus to speak and lecture.
