Faith Fischer Johnson
Mrs. Faith Fischer Johnson ('97) died suddenly at her home in Wheaton on June 28, 1969. She would have been 93 years old on July 10. In spite of her age she was active and alert up to the last. She was regular in attendance at College Church. In June of 1967, the 70th anniversary of her graduation from college, she attended Alumni Day activities on campus. A member of an old and highly regarded Wheaton family, she was a woman of stature and intelligence in her own right. Her grandfather, Jonathan Blanchard, was the first president of Wheaton College. Her father, the late Herman A. Fischer, was a professor at Wheaton College for more than 50 years. She was survived by four children, five brothers, three sisters and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the widow of Nicholas L. Johnson. |
