Elizur K. Bailey

Bailey was born June 3, 1848 in Palatine, Illinois and graduated from Wheaton College in 1875. In 1876 he married Mattie Barrett Myers, a fellow-graduate. He went on to study medicine at the Chicago Medical School and took post-graduate work at Rush Medical College. His wife died in 1899 and afterward Bailey became ordained in the Presbyterian Church and served as a pastor in Oxford, Nebraska from 1910 to 1926. He also practiced medicine in Ogallala, Nebraska, where he died January 11, 1937.
