Elias Ray Augsburger '44 was killed in an aircraft accident February 27, 1956, when the Boeing Super Fort which he was co-piloting crashed during an emergency landing. He was stationed at the Wright-Patterson AFB with his wife, Mary Jane Armitage Augsburger '48, and three children, two boys and a girl.
