David McCarrell

David D. McCarrell was born July 12, 1931 in Cicero to Dr. William and Minnie McCarrell. His father William "Billy" McCarrell founded Cicero Bible Church and served along with Minnie for 45 years. David grew up in Oak Park and attended Wheaton Academy. He joined the Coast Guard during the Korean War and went on to graduate from Wheaton College in 1957. On August 20, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Gedde. Mr. McCarrell taught and coached football at North Park Academy (1957 to 1961) and Niles Township High Schools (1961 to 1995). After retirement from teaching he served as President of Pacific Garden Mission for 17 years. He died October 21, 2013 at age 82.
