Betty Jean MacKinney


Betty Jean MacKinney was born August 22, 1924, in Pine River, Minnesota to Ervin and Sadie Lembke. She married Paul Milton MacKinney June 17, 1944, in Pine River. After completing business college, Betty was employed at Brown and Bigelow in St Paul, Minn.; Pine River High School; and Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois. Betty volunteered at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, and Wheaton Academy in West Chicago. Most of her working years were spent alongside her husband, Paul, as secretary/treasurer of their family business, Concrete Controls Corporation in Wheaton. Betty was a member of various churches. She belonged to First Baptist, Wheaton; Wheaton Bible Church, Wheaton; Carlsbad Community, Carlsbad, Calif.; and Chandler Bible Church, Chandler (AZ). Betty passed away on May 30, 2012, at age 87, in Chandler and was survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul M. MacKinney; two sons, Paul (Barbara) MacKinney of Chandler and Jon (Jan) MacKinney of Chandler; two daughters, Carol (James) Romig of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Sandra MacKinney of Chandler; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
