William Geyh
As a U.S. Navy lieutenant during WWII, Geyh piloted a dirigible and patrolled for enemy subs off the coast of North Africa. He returned to Wheaton as a junior in 1947 to finish his studies under the G.I. Bill and was co-captain for the 1948 football team. In his freshman/sophomore years, Geyh also wrestled and went out for the basketball and track teams. Bill volunteered for 52 years at the Wyckoff Fire Department and was chaplain for 30 years. He spent the last 20 years of his career teaching physics, chemistry, and earth sciences under the Westwood (NJ) Board of Education. He also served as a deacon and Boys Brigade leader at the Faith Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff. Bill passed away on November 22, 2010 at the age of 88 in Wyckoff, New Jersey. |
