Ralph L. Wheaton

Ralph L. Wheaton, Sr., '04 died on May 10, 1956 in Phoenix, AZ, where he and his wife were vacationing. He was president of the Franklin Emory Wheaton Lumber Company, founded by his father, the son of Jesse Childs Wheaton, who settled in the area in 1937 and donated land for the Galena and Chicago railroad, now the Northwestern, in 1849. The railroad gave his name to the Wheaton station. He was survived by his wife Clara Safford Wheaton '04 and two sons, Ralph Jr. and Donald S., all of Wheaton.
