Marilynn Joyce Carlson Webber was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 15, 1931 to Alice Wilhelmina Carlson and Arthur Louis Carlson. Both parents belonged to extended families of immigrants from Småland, Sweden. Marilynn had a lovely singing voice, and as a child she often sang solos at the Central Avenue Baptist Church in Chicago. She died December 28, 2013.
