Mamie White Colvin

Mamie White Colvin, '05, died on Sunday evening, October 30, 1955, as she was preparing to address the congregation of the First Methodist Church in Clearwater, FL. She was at the pulpit when seized by a heart attack. Mrs. Colvin was president of the National WCTU from 1944 to 1953, had headed the New York State WCTU for 18 years, and was currently first vice president of the World WCTU and honorary president of the national organization. She was survived by her husband, Leigh, who was a presidential candidate for the Prohibition Party in 1936, a daughter, Mrs. Robert A. Pierson, and one brother, Dr. Wendell White.
