Chrouser Fitness Center

After construction of this facility was well underway, Harvey Chrouser's plan to retire was made known. At a dinner in his honor, President Armerding announced that the new building, opened in 1981, was to be named Chrouser Fitness Center. Coach Chrouser's football teams compiled a 103-28-7 record over seventeen seasons, earning Chrouser the title of the "Winningest Coach in Illinois." For 25 years he served as Athletic Director and as Director of Honey Rock Camp, which he has conceived and developed.
