Llewellyn Marie (Johnson) Larson was born in Rockford, Illinois, on August 28, 1926, to Rev. Elmer and Lilly (Westlund) Johnson. She received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Wheaton College in 1949. On July 14 the same year, she married Donald Norman Larson of Chicago and together had three children. Lou taught physical education at Trinity College in Illinois and at Bethel College and Ramsey Hospital in St. Paul. She spent two years living in Manila in the Philippine Islands and one year in Bangkok, Thailand, where her husband was employed as a linguist. Upon her return to Minnesota from Thailand, she began a career with National Rehabilitation Consultants in St. Paul, where she worked until her retirement. Lou and Don moved to Big Lake between Osceola and Amery, Wisconsin, where they lived until her husband's death in 2000. In 2001 Lou moved to Princeton, MN. Lou Larson, 87, died October 14, 2013 in Milaca, Minnesota. |
