Ellen Estella Goss was born in Poland on Sept. 28,1934, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Goss Sr. of Poland. Miss Goss attended Harris Hill School in Poland and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1952. She graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois in 1956 with a BA in history. She received her MA in political science at American University, Washington, D.C., in 1968. Miss Goss taught school at Cape Elizabeth, Stowe, Mass., and Utica, N.Y. In Washington, D.C., she was an aide to Sen. Strom Thurmond, S.C., and Sen. Jack Miller, Iowa. She was employed as a system analyst at General Service Administration for 29 years. She was active in ministries at Fourth Presbyterian Church, Bethesda, MD and an active member at National Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C. Ellen Goss, 77, of Arlington, Va., died on Friday, June 15, 2012 at her home in Arlington, VA.
