Tower

1922 marked the return of a collegeannual at Wheaton College with the first issue of the Tower. After a22-year hiatus the class of '22 started raising funds to produce a yearbookbecause of a stipulation from the college faculty being that the yearbook wouldhave to be fully funded before the "closing of contracts" so as to avoid thefinancial troubles of the Echoes. Similar in style the Echoe, theTower presented an overview of the school year, covering the academics,sports, and social life of Wheaton College. The Tower has changed muchover the years according to the styles of each issue's time, yet the contenthas remained consistent throughout its run. A special Armed Forces Towerwas produced in 1946 alongside the regular Tower to be sent overseas toWheaton student serving in World War II. Over the years the Tower has won manyAll American awards.
