A well-known prank from the mid-1970s involvedthe Perry Mastodon not long after its dedication on the 22nd ofNovember 1975. Theoriginal exhibit narration recording was replaced with fanciful history ofPerry Mastodon that included being frozen in a giant ice cube forthousands of years, being tranquilized by Judge Joseph Perry, and, afterreawakening, having half of its body removed for use in the cafeteria, and knowing how to talk and dance among other things. This was purported to be the work of Larry Shackley ('77) and Dave Watt using the WETN studios. |
