A well-known prank from the mid-1970s |
involved the Perry Mastodon not long after its dedication on the 22nd |
of November 1975. |
The original exhibit narration recording was replaced with fanciful history |
of Perry Mastodon that included being frozen in a giant ice cube |
for thousands of years, being tranquilized by Judge Joseph Perry, and, |
after reawakening, having half of its body removed for use in the cafeteria, and knowing how to talk and dance among other things. This was purported to be the work of Larry Shackley ('77) and Dave Watt using the WETN studios. |
