Mrs. Valeria Hill Brown, 811 College Avenue, Wheaton, died at Geneva Community Hospital early Wednesday morning, July 11, 1956, following a short illness. Surviving were her husband, Maurice F. Brown of Chicago; a daughter, Emily (Mrs. William) Stanley, New York and Florida, and a son, Maurice F., Jr., Harvard University. Mrs. Brown had been a member of the Wheaton College music faculty since 1941 as professor of piano and taught a private class in Batavia for the past fifteen years. A former resident of Geneva and Batavia, she earned her music degree from Chicago Musical College. She later attended Bush Conservatory of Music and Boguslowski School of Music, taking modern musical methods. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, July 13, in Wheaton. Kenneth Churchill, associate pastor of College Church in Christ, presided over the service.
