John F. "Jack" Conley ('20) died in April, 1966, after a period in the hospital as the result of a heart attack. Jack was a Boy Scout Executive, living in Wheaton until his retirement and was beloved

by

to boys and men who were directed by him. Jack started college in 1914 and as a freshman captained the football team, in addition to playing basketball and baseball. Just before going into military service, where he was commissioned a lieutenant, he married Lora Fox, who survived him. He returned to college after the war to graduate in 1920 and served the college as Athletic Director from 1922 to 1925. Besides his work in Boy Scouts, Jack was also active in the Wheaton Methodist Church and in other community activities.
