Virginia J. Muir was born May 10, 1921 in Swaledale, Iowa to Louis and Alice Jenkins. In 1944 she graduated from Wheaton College with a bachelor's degree in literature and education. Before her marriage to Douglas W. Muir in 1945, she taught English and music at the high school level. She has been a member of College Church of Wheaton since 1938, where she was active in the musical organizations and women's mission groups. Mrs. Muir was the owner of Virginia J. Muir Editorial Service. In 1988 she retired from the in-house editorial staff of Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., of Carol Stream, IL, where she had served for twenty-five years. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas in 2001. She is survived by her five children and their spouses. She died on November 16, 2012 at age 91.
