Frank Wilkens Jr. was born July 19, 1929 in Chicago, IL and raised in Hayward, WI, he was the son of the late Imogene and Frank Wilkens. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Maureen Murphy Wilkens. Frank was a 1947 graduate of Hayward High School. He attended Wheaton College , in Wheaton, IL and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1951. He received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1957. In 1957 he began working as the controller in General Tire's Respro plastics division in Cranston, RI. In 1959 he went to Akron, OH to work for John O'Neil, the son of the founder of General Tire, in their General Investment Group as an investment board member and manager. In 1962 he was transferred to New York and continued to work for General Tire until 1971. He then founded Wilkens and Nanovic, which managed corporate pension funds and later moved the firm to Greenwich, CT. After retiring to Osterville, MA in 1991 he and his wife Maureen became philanthropically involved in the Cape Cod community. He died on April 3, 2011 at age 81 in Palm Beach, FL.
